X-japan is old famous metal band.
I recommend Ikimono Gakari because i think both tune and lyric are gentle and in-depth. Also recommend Bump of Chicken, even don't liking the tune that much it's good and the lyrics are amazinly elaborate in my opinion.
If you like funny things, I definitely recommend "Golden Bomber".

Bump of Chicken and Baseball Bear have like one song I like.
Orange Range is pretty fun too. They do a little bit of rap on some of their songs.
For Pop music, Hatsune Miku is really popular. I enjoy to listenining to Hatsune Miku myself.
I like Akino Arai for some more folkloric Japanese music.
Baby Metal, lol, is fun to lisen to, but it's not for everyon. They're music style is called Kawaii Metal. So it's Heavy Metal, but cute. They're become pretty popular.
