Irish Dialog: Let's Go to the Beach Tomorrow If It Is Sunny Outside Okay, here we go again with another dialog. I didn't know how to say a number of things in this one so I am fudging them and hopefully a native can point out the correct words for me. For instance, I got "Arú, tá a fhios agam." from focloir.ie to mean "Yeah, I know." I really just wanted to say "Yeah." but "Yeah, I know." means essentially the same thing in American English with more words to it. Hehehe. The same dictionary claimed that "go fiú" meant "even" to indicate surprise too. Here we go. Seán: Dia dhuit, a Bhríen. Conas atá tú ar maidin? Bríen: Táim ceart go leor. Seán: Is maith liom é sin a chloisteáil. Bríen: Go raibh maith agat. Céard fútsa? Conas atá tú inniu? Seán: Táim ar fheabhas, ach ba mhaith liom bheith grianmhar inniu. Bríen: Agus mise. Ní raibh néal sa spéir inné. Bhí sí iontach. Seán: Arú, tá a fhios agam. Bhí sí go hálainn amuigh agus b'fhéidir liom dul chuig an trá le mo chara Emily go fiú. Bríen: Is mian liom dul chuig an trá! Ní ndeachaigh mé chuig an trá i mbliana go fóill! Seán: Bhuel, ba cheart duit dul amárach má tá sí grianmhar. Bríen: An rachaidh tú liom? Seán: Rachaidh. Bríen: Ceart go leor. Téimis chuig na trá amárach le chéile. Bhuel, tá orm imeacht anois. Feicfidh mé amárach thú. Seán: Feicfidh mé amárach thú. == American English == Shawn: Hi, Brian. How are you this morning? Brian: I'm alright, thanks. Shawn: That's good to hear. Brian: Thanks. How about you? How are you (doing) today? Shawn: I'm (doing) excellent, but I wish it were sunny today. Brian: Me too. There wasn't a cloud in the sky yesterday. It (the weather) was great. Shawn: Yeah, I know. It was beautiful outside and I was even able to go to the beach with my friend Emily. Brien: I want to go to the beach! I haven't been to the beach yet this year! Shawn: Well, you should go tomorrow, if it is sunny. Brien: Will you go with me? Shawn: Sure / Yes. Brien: Ok. Let's go to the beach together tomorrow, then. Well, I have to go now. See you tomorrow.
