About words

Caress the phrase a lot and it''ll smile to you.

I like the corrections that have been made thus far.  I do appreciate that you've personified the word 'phrase' by making it both caressable and able to smile.  I think that's a nice literary touch!  If you want it to smile, it should smile "for you" or smile "at you."

Caressez longuement votre phrase et elle finira par sourire.
'Caress your phrase tenderly: it will end by smiling at you'

"Caress your phrase for a long while and it will end by smilling at you"

The original, of course, is in French. I would have translated it as, "Caress your sentence for a long while, and it will end up smiling."
