Урок один Okay, my new mini-sprint-challenge for the rest of this months is to go through the first 10 lessons of my Russian study book, which will basically cover level A1. Each lesson finishes with a little translation task, so it would be great if you could help me spotting the mistakes. Thanks! Урок один Это госпоша Вернер. Он преподаватель. Он немец. А это госпоша Куснецова. Она инженер. Она русская. "Меня зовут Петра. кто вы?" - "Меня зовут Виктор." - "Очень приятно." "Где преподаватель?" - "Преподаватель здесь, а студент там.

Well, this might explain, why so many students drop out of the course after only a few lessons. What I don't like about these books as well is, that they only introduce you to jobs like captain, geologist, stewardess, engineer, manager...I don't know about you, but those are not really professions I need to talk about on a daily basis :)

Oh absolutely! The other thing that made me surprised is the word "преподаватель" that they put into the first lesson. If a were a person starting to learn russian, that word (its length) would freak me out :)

Thank you very much, that is good to know. The book acutally says кто вы, it is good to know, that it is not really polite, before getting into action :) Did you notice, how incorrect these study books often are?
