Eid-Ul Adha ( Kurban Bayramı)
I want to write something about celebration of Eid-Ul Adha ( Kurban Bayramı) in Turkey.
First Day
We wake up early in the morning ( we will wake up at 07:50 in Tekirdağ in this year ). Family members kiss and celebrate with each other. Especially, younger people kiss older people’s hands (1) and then put it to their forehead. Older people give some money to the children.
Then we go to a mosque to pray. At end of prayers, everybody kisses and celebrates with each other.
Older family members go to a special area to sacrifice an animal. This animal’s meats (2) is shared with poor people for [in the name of?] the creator.
We also wear clean and new clothes. We buy some dessert (especially baklava) as a gift to give when visiting homes.
Then we visit our’s father and mother, as I mentioned earlier, for the hand-kissing and forehead ceremony.
On the remaining days (it is a total of four days) , we visit our other relatives.
(1) Number agreement. Use the singular 'hand' because you use 'it' later in the sentence. If you use the plural 'hands', 'it' should be changed to 'them'.
(2)In almost all situations, 'meat' is an uncountable noun, so you don;t need the -s to make it plural.
All Turks struggle with using articles. Have a look at this page for a summary of their use:
