Between is used when talking about something that is in the middle of two things/objects/people. "I live between Lucas's and James's houses" means your house is located in the middle, while the other two houses are one on the left and the other on the right. Among is used when talking about more than two objects. That's to say, if you are, for example, in a crowded mall, you can be "among people". You are in a location together with many people, and not only two. Among is used for things and objects too: "You can find your shoes among my dirty clothes". I hope it helped!
