Football and English!!!

I used to be a big fan of football (soccer) when I was a student from high school to college. After I graduated, I realized that my knowledge and skills were very limited, and my English abilities especially were zero at that time, and I wasn't able to communicate with others even using some daily sentences for kids. I recognized this problem when I met a foreigner at my supervisor's office. One day, I thought if I hadn't watched a football match, I would have watched another one. If I hadn't watched this season, I would have watched the next season. However, if I hadn't paid attention to study, I would have been defeated forever. This was the way a So I had to keep a distance from my favorite hobbies.

Interestingly, I recognize that English and football have some similar features. The first one, as we all know is where the origin of English language and football is. Some people may believe that football was originally from China, but according to Wiki, it was in England. The second point is that while English is an international language, football is known as the king of sports.
