Amazing Japan! Last summer I staid in Japan for two weeks. Altough I thought that I would be "lost in traslation" there, it didn't happen at all! It's right that almost everything works in a different way in Japan but if you have read about manners and costums before you go there, the experience will be awesome! People can't speak a fluent English (embarrasment or poor knowledge) but they'll try to communicate with you by drawing or using signals. In fact, they are very kind and helpful and they are really proud of their country. What I highlight most of Japan is the contrast that you can appreciate between modernity and tradition in a short distance. You can be in the middle of the famous novel "Memoirs of a gheisa" and, suddenly, you can be ashtonished by thousands of neons!

People can't speak a fluent English (through embarrasment or poor knowledge) but they'll try to communicate with you by drawing or using signals. In fact, they are very kind and helpful and they are really proud of their country.
What I highlight (liked??) most of about Japan is the contrast that you can appreciate between modernity and tradition (the old and the new) in a short distance. You can be in the middle of the famous novel "Memoirs of a Geisha" and, suddenly, you can be ashtonished by thousands of neon lights!

Well done. To Stay is one of those pesky verbs ending in Y that doesn't fit the normal rules i.e. cry, cried. I understood everything. A couple of spelling errors but no problem. I've offered a couple of alternatives for your consideration.

We chose Japan because we thought it would be very different from what we had seen before. We haven't been in EEUU, for example., but I think we can recognized almost everything from the films and series and many costums are adopted here in Spain (We have just been celebrating Halloween these days and that isn't a Spanish tradition at all...). I can't choose a single experience because you are astonished every moment, mainly in Tokyo (people appearance is unbelievable!) but I think customer attention it's impressive (they are extremely kind and bow many times). You become addicted to this treatment and when you were in Spain again,,, You find people a bit rude ;-) Looking at Shibuya crosswalk activity, in Tokyo, is a must-do too. Too much people everywhere! Another interesting thing to do is to enter to a restaurant with no English attention or menu and to do a random election. It can be really funny and you could be eating surrounded by a lot of salary man talking in Japanese!

I am curious why did you choose to go to Japan? I always was fascinated by customs and philosophy of this country. I did not study it very deep, so by no means I am a connoisseur of their culture, but I really enjoy anime. japanese rock, kokeshi dolls. What was the most interesting experience you had in that journey? Could you share?
