Does "please carry on" mean the same as "please go on"?

Hi. Usually the two mean the same thing. It is perfectly fine to use either statement, as they both mean to go ahead with what you were doing. Go ahead with what you were saying.

They both mean 'continue', and in most cases can be used interchangeably. 'Go on' is the most usual phrasal verb used when someone has been talking and you tell them to continue with what they were saying.
