On an English keyboard (or an ancient typewriter) there are SHIFT and CAPS-LOCK keys, to alter the case of letters, or provide two shifts for other keys... CAPS-LOCK is the bane of my computer life - you bump the bloody key and everything you type comes out in the wrong case. iT JUST DRIVE ME crazy!
