Le chat marron mange la viande rouge. When does the adjective (attribute in this case) stand in front of the noun and when does it stand behind it?

In general, the adjectives are behind (after) the noun. Exceptions: joli/beau/mauvais/bon/petit/grand/nouveau/jeune/vieux/demi/double/autre/même/gentil/gros/long/meilleur are before the noun. C'est un nouveau pantalon C'est un long tunnel C'est une grande étagère
