What does it mean "hardly closure"? In Please Like Me Rose: Ginger's note. (Ginger left a note for Rose when she killed herself ) Josh: Okay, let's do it. Rose: I thought we'd have a little ritual, like, I'll read it out and then we can burn it and just let it go and keep moving like a shark. Josh: Okay. Rose: (EXHALING) "Rose, you fat bitch." Josh: (LAUGHING) Rose: "Thanks for keeping me company. Take care of yourself. Ginger." Josh: That's it? Rose: Yeah. Josh: Ah, it's hardly closure, is it? Rose: No What does it mean "it's hardly closure"? i'm not sure what "hardly" means in this context. I would appreciate if you could help me with this.

closure = closure (resolution) of a wound or a trauma hardly = not nearly The sentence means: "Such a terse note hardly constitutes closure for the trauma and sadness of bereavement felt by the living or to the ills and anguish that caused the suicide."
