Ein weites Ziel Does "ein weites Ziel ist nicht nah" mean "a distant goal/target is not near/close"? It's from an exercise on the meaning of weit, so I have no context to help with judging if I understood it right. Danke sehr!

I would say you understood the meaning of the exercise as it was intended, altough I would never say "ein weites Ziel" but rather "ein weit entferntes Ziel" to be more specific, because "weit" could also be interpreted as "far", "loose", "wide", "ample". You can say "ein weites Kleid" meaning a loose dress, or "ein weiter Weg" meaning a long way...
