Before you start writing the essay, take a separate sheet of paper and write down the main points you want to make. In fact, write down the first sentence of each paragraph you plan to write. This will give your essay a feeling of shape, structure, and that the reader is in the hands of someone who knows where she is going. "Tell them what you are going to say, then say it, then tell them what you said." Have an introductory paragraph, then the body of the essay, then a summary. The introduction and the summary don't need to be long or fancy, but they should be there. If you express any opinions, support them by citing facts. Don't waste time trying to make your opinions sound good or authoritative or literary, use the time to support them. Don't try to make the writing fancy; concentrate on making it clear.

I do not know what type of exam you are preparing for, but here are a few things to do: 1. Quality matters: Use proper grammar and check your spelling. 2. If it is an essay, make sure you start with an introductory paragraph, and end with a conclusion or summary. The midsection of the paper can have several main points. Dedicate a paragraph to each main point. 3. Avoid using "filler" words to make it longer. Make sure the words you write are meaningful and contribute to the topic you are assigned. Relax, and good luck!

I agree, before you begin writing your actual essay, use a separate sheet to write down ideas. Don't worry about grammar or spelling. Just write down the words you would speak if you were answering the question verbally: "Write what you would say". Once you have some ideas on paper, it should be easier to organize them!

You can choose the topic or there is a topic from you teacher and you can't see what it is? :) The best idea is to check the news... You have plenty ideas :)
