pronouncing "y" as "dz"? Khmer verb "ywol" that means to understand, I saw the IPA pronouncing symbol expression but I heard "dzwol" from a native speaker. That seems like Spanish speakers speaks "dz" for "y". Are there two tongues, people pronounces "y" and other people does "dz" in Khmer? or difficulty of pronouncing "y" like Spanish?

you can't try to understand it in symbol like this it not good if you can try to remember all Khmer character instead and yes thing are different in writing and speaking dependent on location and people but I recommend you to pronounce it like what we write is the best way to say but be careful to listening.
