Hello, I am a bit unsure what tense you meant for this to be in. For "There's nothing as stupid as doing nothing, except for hoping for something to be good at." I interpreted the meaning to be: The only thing stupid as doing nothing is hoping to be good at something without practicing it.

Before we stress out about not being good at something, let's think that we have actually tried to be good at something. There's nothing more stupid than doing nothing and only hoping to be good at something.
