I'm working at a first writing part of IELTS and I'm not sure about a word 'a dip'. Do you know how to use it correctly? There is a verb 'to dip' in this context? Can I use this word a such way? An example: American immigration rate rose slighty, but after that it... (had a dip? reached a dip? dipped?) and continued to rise the same way.

The American immigration rate rate rose rapidly to 40% before dipping (sharply) to 30% (or - before there was a sharp dip to 30%) and then it gradually increased to 50%. You need to practice verb + adverb and adjective + noun. Always include numbers.

A dip in the land. (The bottom of a hill). Let's take a dip in the lake. (Let's go swimming in the lake). Their heart rate took a dip. (Their heart rate decreased/went down). Did you have a dip of salsa? (Did you eat/try the salsa?) Dip is to go down in someway. To submerse into water. To be fast then slow. A chip to rise and fall into salsa. USA English

Hello Artem, nice to meet you. The verb "To dip" means to fall. So, your sentence should read something like this: "The American immigration rate rose slightly, but soon after that, it took a dip and continued to fall." a few grammar points: When using subjects that are singular and specific, we use the article "the". We only the zero article with Plural and uncountable nouns. There also has to be subject verb agreement throughout the sentence. So, if to dip means to fall then we cannot say it rose because it's contradictory to its meaning. I hope this helps.
