Letter heading

Hi,

I have a motivation letter to write in English, but I don't know the name or the title of the person I must send it to. I was about to begin by Dear Sir, Madam, but it is a job for an NGO (on the far left politic spectrum), and I think this would look to formal. I wonder if there's another way to say it, like Dear colleagues or somthing else. Your opinion?

Hi!

I'm not sure what you mean by 'motivation letter' but I think you are talking about a cover letter (for a job). If so, you are right, a typical greeting is "Dear Sir or Madam", if you don't know the name of anyone at the NGO. You could also use "To whom it may concern" but I would go with the first one. '

If you want to show that you are not too formal, don't worry about the top part of the letter, you can express that in the content of the letter!

Good luck!

I'd say "to whom it may concern".
