Haters =Jealousy? What is your understanding of someone who is a hater? Have you had anyone who has been a hater towards you? How have they been a hater? Are you a hater?

When I was young, I used to have heated religious and political arguments with my friends but they never affected our relationship. Nowadays people can barely handle a religious or political disagreement. One person says something you disagree with and you block or “unfriend” them or whatever. And the ironic thing is that in your head it’s likely that you think that that person is a hater. But really, you’re more of a hater than they are. They reject your beliefs, but you’ve rejected them as a person. Someone trying to change your political or religious views is not a hater, no matter how adamant they are, no matter how much they try to change your views.

If you think people are hating on you, it’s probably because you’re a judgmental person and think everyone judges you the way you judge everyone. Humans have a tendency to reflect their world onto others.

In other words, if you want haters to stop hatin’, you should probably stop hatin’ your perceived haters first.

I have experienced having haters but it's not really because of jealousy but because my views do not match theirs. My peers don't really like me so much because I'm a conservative millennial and they're all forcing me to be liberal like them and that is why I end up avoiding them. For me, I don't care what your views are, just don't impose your beliefs on me because I don't impose mine on others

There is a really big difference in colloquial English between

"Being a hater" or "hatin' on someone"

And hating someone or being a hateful person.

The former are usually regarding silly drama over disagreements, the later is a strong emotion or force causing someone to think or potentially do bad things to others.

Funny comments so far but I don't get what is "with all the haters" down voting the OP or some of the other comments. Don't be hatin'!

I'm often late to participate good discussions. Sorry about it, but I think this thread is worth reading so I picked it up again. Thank you, Andrea.  I'm not sure I understand these comments above but I'm impressed with some comments.  First of all, I'm curious about the title, "Haters = Jealousy?" Are haters want to attack someone because they are jealous about the person? Sometimes they are, but basically haters don't like people themselves. Haters deny the life itself and they sometimes happen to reveal what human is. And they often hurt others for their satisfaction and achievements. Even if they hurt others, sometimes they are right. Many people, including myself, have to admit to like to see how haters without hypocrisy criticize others.  Maybe... Not all of haters but some of them know truth of life.
