You need to do a bit of work on learning the meaning of suffixes.

Here's a little word-building exercise:

1)  -able   = describes what it is possible to do with something

This pen is broken, so it isn't usable any more.

This water comes straight from the dirty river, so it isn't drinkable.

Something that you can use   = usable

Something that you can drink = drinkable

Something that you can eat  =    ................?

Something that you read      =     ................?

Something that you can tolerate  =    ...............?

2)  - ant   = describes what a person or thing does, or how they behave.

He doesn't have a job, so he is reliant on his parents.

A person who relies  = reliant

A person who hesitates = .....................?

A person who dominates =  ..................?

A person who tolerates =  ..................?

Tolerable is generally used to describe a an object or action, that you can put up with (i.e. tolerate). For example "The food was bland and dry; it was barely tolerable".

Tolerant is someone who can put up with a lot of something that most people find unpleasant. For example "The teacher was very tolerant of the noisy children"
