Have anyone ever wondered if "Love is overrated"???? (Please read the description) Let me play the devil's advocate; isn't there anything more important than love in life?
If you think love is human's first priority, why are you so sure? How do you draw comparisons?  If no, what is it that you think is more important than love?

What are your theories?

Not just stable, but (as i told, sorry for being repetitious) fundamental AND essential. There's no way to keep a relation with a person you don't trust. Because, however insignificant the relation can be, there's always a little of expectation about another person, that expectation is the proof that you have some kind of faith on him/her.
Well, in my opinion, friendship is fidelity without love, and because it does not involve love, is a pure relationship...

Thanks for your contribution. <img alt="" src="http://www.italki.com/fckeditor/editor/images/smiley/msn/regular_smile.gif" />
Just checking your standpoint,  so you think fidelilty outweighs love because it keeps relationships stable? What do you think about fidelity without love?

For me fidelity is more important than love. Because i believe that fidelity is fundamental for any kind of relationship, and without any relationship, we can't stay alive...or maybe we would be crazy.

I appreciate your book recommendation. As a matter of fact, I'm very much interested in Russian writers:-)  Anyway, I suppose I understand your point.
No matter how firmly one claims to believe something, it's surprising easy to change his/her stance down the road.

I'd love to hear your answer to my questions in the description also, if you don't mind. Thanks!

The reason why I posted this topic is to learn different perspectives on why love seems to have so many more credits than, for example, passion, piety, hope etc. Any ideas, anybody?

dear friends, i see what you mean, but i'd reccomend you to read one russian book called "Farthers and Children" written by Turgenev . In this book the author describes the main hero as a hopeless materialist, an extremely down-to-earth person. He had talked about love rudly until he met a woman that he fell in love with. Then he changed his point of view completely...
