In my personal opinion, I would like to find one or two close friends. If there is only a large group of acquaintance without any close friends inside, it will be no different from having no friends at all. First of all, close friends are necessary because friendship means sharing happiness and sadness together. It would be uncomfortable to complain to a not-so-close acquaintance for both the speaker and the listener. However, between close friends it will not be a problem. I know he or she will keep it as a secret and my complaining will not annoyed him or her. Secondly, friendship also means help each other when meets trouble. This needs time and energy to put in to the maintaining of the relationship. It is impossible to be ready to help a lot of people all the time. Thus, if I only have one or two intimate friends, I could invest more affection to each of them, and at the same way, I would receive more contrary to the former condition. Thirdly, I prefer the situation that several friends sit together and each know quite a lot of the others and we can communicate without barriers. Nevertheless, if there are too many people, I may not be able to get a good acknowledge of what are their preference and what are their expertise. Therefore, we may meet some trouble and gaps when we are discussing some topic. To sum up, I would like to have one or two close friends instead of too many acquaintance. In my perspective, friendship means sharing, caring and understanding. One would be so pessimistic that he or she has no intimate friend and only spends time with a large number of acquaintances for he or she has not real friends.
