Is "hearing the news" or "reading the news" correct? PlBoth "hearing the news" and "reading the news" can be correct, depending on the context: "Hearing the news" is used when you're listening to the news, such as on the radio or TV. Example: "I heard the news on the radio this morning." "Reading the news" is used when you're reading it from a newspaper, website, or any written source. Example: "I read the news online every day." So, the correct phrase depends on how the news is being received.ease help me!

Is "hearing the news" or "reading the news" correct? Please help me! Both are correct. I myself only say I "read" something if I actually did read it. I use "read" only according to its literal meaning. Other people may use it differently. However, it is common to use "hear" even for situations where nothing is literally heard. For example, if Jim Smith wins a race, I will say "I heard that Jim Smith won the race" even though I actually read it on my computer screen. When I ask someone "Have you heard that Jim Smith won?", I don't actually care whether they heard it or read it. "Have you heard?" means the same as "Do you know the news?" If the answer is "yes", it means they do know the news.
