"as of today", meaning? Examples? Today I received an email saying "as of today, we submitted your request". I had never seen "as of today". Was it incorrect? is it right? Could you explain a context in which I can use it? Thank you in advance

I think it's rather bureaucratic in this context; "today" would have been perfectly fine instead. Using this expression makes more sense not for a one-time event, but for something that starts and continues: "As of today [or "effective today"], all staff may no longer wear shorts in the office."

It is perfectly correct, more formal business English than casual or conversational. It just means "today" and probably not before today.
