Generally speaking, "aim at" refers to physically aiming at something, whereas "aim for" refers to your intention to achieve some abstract thing. For instance: You aim at a target, but you aim for a goal. Both of these phrasal verbs are usually followed by a noun. Regards.

Aim for is a figurative statement which is used when talking about goals. Aim at is a literal statement, which means you are physically aiming at something.
