What`s the meaning of "adrenaline rush"? Some hospitals are trying to make care giving jobs seem manly, like using a recruitment poster comparing the “adrenaline rush” of being an operating room nurse to mountain climbing.

the adrenaline is the substance which is released in the body during excitement times to prepare the body to the so-called "fight or flight" mood. it increases heart rate and blood pressure and other processes which alerts the body .

Let's just rewrite this sentence to make it more simple: Some hospitals, in order to find new employees, are trying to make care giving jobs (like nurse) to seem manly/more exciting. For this purpose some of them use recruitment posters which, for example, compare the operating room nurse to mountain climbing - such a poster suggests that this kind of job will give you “adrenaline rush”/it will make you feel the adrenaline.

When people use the expression, "adrenaline rush", they are usually talking about a rush of excitement or a burst of energy. For example, a man might say after winning a game of tennis, "I had such an adrenaline rush when I hit that last ball". A woman might say, "I was feeling a bit sleepy, but a brisk walk after lunch gave me such an adrenaline rush". The expression can also mean a renewed sense of accomplishment or purpose in life. Hope this helps

I'm not an expert in either way, medical or English. my 2 cents based on you two's discussion and my 5 mins research, "adrenaline rush" referring to stressful, fully loaded, rush all the time type of jobs like operation room nurse, fire fighter. basically, they are using medical term to describe medical related jobs,,,pretty interesting usage
