You don't find it hard because you are Taiwanese and grew up reading traditional Chinese. Traditional Chinese is slightly more difficult to read and definitely slower and more tedious to write, but I myself prefer it.
Most foreign learners learn simplified Chinese. For someone who has never seen traditional Chinese before, it can seem intimidating and very complex, but with a bit of time and effort you can get used to it very quickly. Obviously, it's best to be able to read in both systems, but it's unreasonable to expect people to be able to write in both systems.
I think that people learning Chinese, regardless of what they choose to learn, is a good thing, so from that perspective this question is somewhat irreverent.
