I was taught a 'sentence' is a group of words to form a statement and a 'phrase' is a group of words that are part of a sentence. For instance, 'I like this forum for many reasons, first of all, it helps me with my English learning but , not only that, I enjoy a lot the discussion topics and the riddles' 'first of all' and 'not only that' are phrases. 'I like this forum for many reasons', 'it helps me with my English learning' and 'I enjoy a lot discussion topics and the riddles' are sentences.

A sentence will contain a subject, a verb and a complete thought. ´´The man jumped over the moon¨ while a phrase doesn´t have to have a subject and a veb. For example ´´over the moon´´ which means crazy in some instances. ¨This guy is over the moon.¨

La diferencia es la misma como la de Frase y Enunciado.

Phrases are made up of words only, but sentences have a predicate. Watching film = a phrase I watched a film = a sentence A short sentence which has a predicate but is connected to a main sentence which has the predicate of its own is called a "clause" If you had been there, you would've enjoyed a lot. = a sentence, predicate of which is "enjoy" However "You had been there" is a clause related to the main sentence, having its own predicate. Verbs which are used by a preposition and change meaning are called "phrasal verbs", because they make up phrases. make - verb make up, make up with, make out - phrasal verbs
