What's up? I'm Tommy
With nearly a decade of experience in one-on-one Vietnamese tutoring, I bring both passion and expertise to each lesson. I hold a degree in Teaching and Translation from a respected university in Vietnam and have completed a Tourism and Travel course in Canada, which allows me to connect with people from around the world on a deeper level.
As a native Vietnamese speaker born in Vietnam and now residing in Canada, I specialize in teaching Southern Vietnamese to help learners communicate effectively and confidently. I provide rich cultural insights and practical travel coaching, ensuring my students experience the beauty of Vietnamese language and culture firsthand.عني كمعلّم

I have been tutoring Vietnamese one on one for almost a decade now.
I always prepare good materials for different styles of learners like appealing PowerPoint presentation, music, videos, Images, flashcards, etc.
I'll incorporate engaging elements like games and music into our lessons to keep the learning experience enjoyable. Learning a new language can sometimes be stressful and boring so I've designed lesson-related games myself to ensure they're both entertaining and educational. Another great lesson with Tommy, easing into the lesson with a review of material covered last time, patient correction of my forgetfulness and struggling pronunciation, lots of encouragement, flexibility to let me try making some off-topic sentences, and a nice quiz and recap at the end. Looking forward to the next lesson!

I had a lot of fun talking in Vietnamese about various topics (today food in particular), taking turns asking questions. It was very helpful when you helped write the new words I was learning in the chat for me to save, and I like how you asked me to read different passages or practice answering questions to figure out what I know and don't know yet :)
