Hi, my name is Shoko Ishida.
Thank you for visiting my profile!
I was born and raised in Kyoto, Japan.
Now I live in Osaka. (but I use "Standard Japanese" in my lessons.)
I like drawing pictures, reading books, playing the piano, and talking with my students!
I love to learn about different cultures, customs, and ways of thinking.
And I have traveled to eight countries so far, including Taiwan, the United States, Finland, and Egypt. There are so many more countries I would like to visit.
I really look forward to meeting you at our first lesson!

I'm a qualified Japanese teacher, and I have more than 7 years of experience teaching Japanese, including 3 years teaching at a language school.
I have taught both children and adults - from beginners to advanced classes.
I am learning foreign languages myself, so I understand how fun and difficult it is to learn foreign languages. That's why I try to make my lessons as fun as possible so that you can enjoy studying Japanese!دروسي وأسلوب تدريسي
I currently offer two types of lessons.:
◇Free Conversation Lesson◇
=You can practice conversation in Japanese.
- improve your vocabulary & expressions
-develop your conversational skills more natural and fluent
-receive "LESSON NOTES" after each lesson
◇Standard Lesson for Beginners◇
= Students study beginner level Japanese using GENKI 3rd edition or Minna no Nihongo textbook.
-this lesson is used the textbook and slides I have made.
-homework assignments are discussed if needed.
I am quite flexible about lessons, will be happy to discuss with you.

Shoko-san is a wonderful with so much passion for teaching Japanese! I would highly recommend her to anyone who is aiming to start or continue their Japanese learning journey. Her lessons are always well-prepared and taught with so much kindness, patience and fun! Really looking forward to more lessons with her!

I had my first lesson with Shoko in September 2022. And guess what? I'm still here. That should say it all, shouldn't it?
Shoko is by far the best Japanese teacher I've ever had.
Especially for me, who is a very anxious person, doesn't like approaching strangers and hates talking on the phone (not good conditions for online lessons, by the way), lessons with Shoko are always the highlight of my week.
She challenges without overwhelming, gives tips and hints without anticipating the answer.
Her warm and courteous manner makes you feel like you're at a good friend's house right from the start instead of in a " awkward" teacher-student online situation.
Whether you are a beginner or an advanced student, if you want to have fun learning Japanese, you should definitely give Shoko a try!

I've been taking lessons with Shoko sensei for almost a year now and I can definitely say my Japanese has improved a lot. She is always willing to answer any and all of my questions, she's super encouraging and always a joy to speak with online. I always get nervous before calls as I am highly introverted but after I join the call I always feel so much calmer and happier. I feel beyond accomplished after my lessons! Shoko-san is the best!

Shoko-san is a wonderful teacher and I am so happy that I make time for these weekly Japanese lessons in between my busy week, because they always make me so happy and excited to practice my Japanese! I'm really looking forward to more lessons with her!

Shoko sensei is great at facilitating conversation and asking questions to get me to share more about my experiences in Japanese! She’s also patient and encouraging, and I look forward to improving my Japanese listening and speaking fluency with her 💪🏻🥰💪🏻
