My whole life I've been travelling, moving across countries, continents, and oceans. I was born in Canada and have travelled through 22 other countries. I've even lived on a ship in the South Pacific Ocean for a season!
This cross-cultural perspective has helped open my mind to the beauty of different ways of living and interacting. I am a language-learner and culture-appreciator. I REALLY value learning from the different people I meet, and love connecting with people from places all over the world.عني كمعلّم

Connecting with students along their learning journey is a huge honour and privilege.
I like to laugh!
When students are laughing, they are relaxed and will learn language more easily.
I like language teaching!
I've been a tutor and professional teacher for the majority of my adult working life, and I absolutely love it. I can't imagine doing anything else. :)دروسي وأسلوب تدريسي
My teaching style is centered around communicative theories of language teaching. Communication and connection is usually the end goal.
I teach two main types of classes:
(1) Core English Skills (Listening, Speaking, Reading, Writing, Grammar, & Vocabulary) -- at a Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced level
(2) Special Focus Classes (Conversation and Pronunciation)
*PLEASE NOTE:
Age minimum for Italki lessons is 16 years.

I will always be grateful to Joy. I feel comfortable with her lessons. She always corrects my mistakes and her patience makes me feel better. I always try to have English conversations instead of classes because that works better for me, however, when I need explanations instead of teaching me grammar rules she tries to make an explanation of the meaning.

The teacher caught/ explored my grammatical and pronunciation mistakes when I said something, and then we worked on them. And - that is interesting - they were really my usual mistakes. And they were found out pretty quickly)). It was my second lesson. And it was interesting and rather fun to explore my English with Joy)). Thanks, Joy!
