Hi, mein Name ist Sindy! Ich bin in Deutschland geboren und aufgewachsen und deutsche Muttersprachlerin. Zehn Jahre lang war ich auf Reisen und habe in 11 Ländern gelebt und gearbeitet. Jetzt lebe ich auf der Insel Sumba in Indonesien.
Das Leben hier hat seine Tücken, aber der Charme des Inselalltags überwiegt! Ich freue mich darauf, dich kennenzulernen und dich zu unterstützen.
Hi, my name is Sindy! I was born and raised in Germany and am a native German speaker. Over ten years, I traveled the world, living and working in 11 countries. Now, I live on a beautiful but remote island called Sumba.

Before teaching on italki in 2020, I worked as an English teacher in Seoul. During my time here, I helped more then 1000 students prepare for language exams, job interviews, and develop confidence in speaking with colleagues, spouses, and more. I am very patient and have a calm and easy-going character, which has proven to be very positive for my students repeatedly.
Vor italki arbeitete ich als Englischlehrerin in Seoul. Hier habe ich mehr als 1000 Schülern erfolgreich geholfen, sich auf Sprachprüfungen und Vorstellungsgespräche vorzubereiten und Selbstvertrauen im Umgang mit Kollegen, Partnern usw. zu entwickeln. Yup, it's me again, everyone! One hour felt like a nice breezy chit chat about life. Each class with Sindy makes me feel so encouraged and honestly, we just jive really well. Sindy asks interesting questions relevant to my life, knows when to let me free-flow and when to interject/support me. She lets me get my complicated thought out and carefully help me rebuild the sentences correctly, never overwhelms! Thanks Sindy. Lucky to have ya!

Sindy is a native German speaker with excellent language knowledge. Her English skills are on par with an articulate native speaker. She easily and quickly formulates translations or explanations in German or English.
She also has deep cultural understanding. Living in a variety of countries has given her insight into diverse life experiences. She can intelligently discuss nearly any topic. Sindy is cosmopolitan, yet down-to-earth and friendly.
What really sets her apart is her conversational fluidity. She has a friendly, open demeanour that facilitates easy conversation. She prompts with insightful questions when relevant but always allows the student to do the bulk of the talking. She makes German conversation practice pure pleasure.
