I was 27 when I discovered my passion for languages and it never left me since then. Born and raised in Switzerland, I lived there most of my life but I used to travel for long periods of time, often to learn a language, Ecuador, Peru, The US, Canada, Italy, New Zealand, Australia, Brazil... and lived for 4 years in Dublin and in Berlin. I love everything artistic, especially music (indie, soul, neo-classical, I love listening to music in languages I learn) but also cinema, literature, modern circus, photography. I am generally quite curious and like to read fiction and non-fiction on all kinds of topic. I also enjoy hiking, swimming and having interesting conversationsعني كمعلّم
For about 3 years, I've been teaching French, English and German one-on-one in average 5 hours a week. I work as a volunteer teacher in an association for adult migrants in Switzerland. I have a class 2 hours a week.
I also taught English to a group of teenagers in Brazil for a month in 2018. I am a patient, dynamic, open-minded and sometimes funny teacher. Being a learner myself, I am attentive to the needs of my students. I am also a great believer in learning through games. For example it makes grammar usually much more digest. Speaking of which, I believe that I have a better grasp of grammar including in my own language than most native speakersدروسي وأسلوب تدريسي
I give 3 types of lessons:
1) conversation : we'll talk about topics that interest you.
2) multi-activity lessons with focus on vocabulary acquisition, grammar, reading, listening...
3) in English, preparatory lessons for the First Certificate. I have myself passed Advanced and Proficiency
During the first lesson, I will assess your level, get to know what you are interested in, which aspects of the language you want to work on, how you would like me to bring you corrections and we'll work from there.
Please note: I'm not taking on students under 12 years old and students between 12 and 18 only on general classes. Exception could be made for students with B1 and above level.موادي الخاصة بالتدريس

Séverine is one of the best teachers on italki! She is patient, knows the perfect time to interfere and has a lot of interesting stories to tell!
I am rapidly remembering all the French that I forgot long ago, thanks to her encouraging style. She makes grammar more enjoyable and listens to you attentively helping you correct your mistakes yourself.

Severine is a very professional and happy teacher! She follows you during the lesson and helps you with your needs. Also, she prepares the lesson material in advance and help you with a lot of exercises. As i said, Severine is a special Teacher !

In short, I really recommend Séverine as she’s extremely patient and really wants to you learn. She collects all kinds of fun materials to make the lessons interesting, and would tailor the class to your needs. She’s always gentle and again very patient, which is the quality I enjoy the most in class — sometimes when I get upset for not understanding things I really appreciate that she remains calm. When I have questions, she’ll try to explain it in French first. If after a few tries it didn’t work, she then explains in English. I also love the fact that she offers 30mins class because it allows me to squeeze it into my schedule while not taking up too much workday space. Overall, really enjoyable experience!
