My name is Ashley and I'm a teacher with Italki. I grew up in Boise, Idaho but have been living in New York City for the past 6 years. I've also lived abroad in Calabria, Italy.
Aside from English, I speak Spanish and Italian. Though I don't speak the Calabrese dialect, I can understand Calabrese as well.
I enjoy cooking, reading, writing, riding horses, and traveling.عني كمعلّم
I learned both Spanish and Italian as an adult, so I know how challenging learning a new language can be.
Because of these experiences, I have developed many techniques to help my students learn quickly and effectively.
Teaching has always been my passion and I'm happy to say I've been teaching for over 10 years. I've taught both children and adults in groups or one on one. I hold a Bachelor's degree in the Spanish language as well as a TEFL Certification. I specialize in teaching Business English, Young Learners, as well as IELTS and TOEIC preparation.

Every student is different and learns in their own way. I tailor my lessons to the student's learning style by using a mix of visuals, reading materials, and conversational techniques. To learn a new language or continue to get better in an existing language, lessons should be focused but also fun.الشهادات

I refer to teacher Ashley for help with the TOEFL speaking section, and it is really a good opportunity for me to practice and it is exactly what I needed. My problems when dealing with the test are mainly about grammar and strategy for answer. Teacher Ashley not only help me identify my problems but also give me advice on how to improve my performance. She is more than experienced and professional, and I received a lot of helpful information from her feedback.
Highly recommend if you have trouble with the IELTS or TOEFL tests.

Ashley is so versatile and interesting, and she has a story for every topic! And I love her sense of humor 💗 At the same time, she’s so empathetic and supportive, creating a safe space where I feel truly comfortable. Our lessons sometimes feel like therapy, where I feel heard, and other times, they feel like a fun conversation with a close friend.
