Hi! My name is Whitney and I am from New Hampshire, United States. I recently moved back to the USA after living in Bogota, Colombia for 10 years. I have a BA in Cultural Anthropology from Northeastern University and I am curious about the different people and cultures of this world and am always looking to learn more and expand my knowledge and consciousness.
I love to cook, bake, and create arts and crafts like drawing, painting, and textile arts.
Other hobbies and passions are music, dancing, travel, animals, plants, well-being, and learning. My goal for the next year is to travel around the US exploring new places, meeting new people and spending lots of time in the great outdoors!عني كمعلّم
I am a CELTA-certified teacher with over 14 years of experience in all different levels, ages, and objectives. I started in 2009 as a volunteer teacher at an immigration center and fell in love with teaching. I got certified in 2011 in Bogota, Colombia and taught at several language institutes such as International House before becoming a professor at the Externado University of Colombia, one of the best universities in the country.
My strengths as a teacher are that I am patient and understanding and I really want to get to know you and understand your goals. I am intuitive and creative in finding ways to help you step into using English as an ally in your personal and professional life!دروسي وأسلوب تدريسي
My objective is to be the best guide along your English journey! I will use your goals as a starting point to decide which methodology and materials will work best. As you learn and your needs change, the classes will organically evolve with you!
For conversation classes, we focus on building fluency, confidence, and language range through speaking about diverse topics.
For General English classes, we will have more clear learning objectives and may use a textbook.

We had a very good conversation! She is a very nice person and I have the sense that you can speak with her about whatever you want. She is willing to help all the time and she correct all my mistakes and explain what i did wrong, I will repeat it!

I really enjoyed the lesson. Whitney is an attentive teacher. Her insights about the verb forms I tend to use made me realize a common problem I had while using verbs. Her area of interest is really broad and that makes it easier to do a conversation. Thank you.

Great lessons! The topic of last lesson was cooking. We were talking about it and reading recipes. I got a lot of new words. There are a lot of fun and good from lessons with Whitney.
