My name is Eric. I live in Canada. I am Canadian and English is my first language. I speak English with a neutral North American accent. I love teaching. I have a CELTA certificate, a Bachelor of Arts in Greek and Roman Studies (Classics), and l have 4 years of experience teaching people of diverse backgrounds here on iTalki. I genuinely enjoy teaching and take satisfaction from preparing and delivering helpful lessons.
On a personal level, my hobbies include reading, hiking, and travel. I am interested in literature, history, psychology, politics, culture, language and philosophy. I am constantly learning myself: right now, I am improving my Latin language skills.عني كمعلّم
I am experienced in helping students prepare for IELTS, job interviews, and living in Canada and America. IELTS and Canadian English are my specialties. I can also teach for CELPIP. I enjoy teaching writing, especially grammar and vocabulary. I teach intermediate and advanced students. I do not teach beginners. I also run a podcast here on iTalki, "Informal English with Eric."
Students have told me that my style for teaching writing and speaking have been particularly useful in preparation for tests. The highest score any student of mine has gotten on IELTS Speaking is 8.5; Writing, 8.5, and Listening, 9!

I will teach you reading, writing, speaking and listening skills, using everything from textbooks and presentations to novels and YouTube. If you are interested in IELTS or CELPIP, we will follow an aggressive schedule, practicing the tasks you will be asked to do repeatedly. I will give you lots of feedback on every aspect of English. I will give you task assignments for each part of the test.
If you are immigrating to Canada, I will be happy to answer any questions you may have about my country. I have lived here all my life. We can discuss Canadian culture, Canadian geography and—most of all—Canadian English! This dialect is a tricky problem, and I am ready to help you with it.موادي الخاصة بالتدريس

UCL Summer Course in English Phonetics - University College London - 2023This course provided me with additional insights into the differences between British and American English as well as a helpful review of IPA and intonation patterns. It helped refine my teaching style when it comes to pronunciation.
I highly recommend the course for teachers and learners at an advanced level.

Eric 真的是一位非常专业的老师👍他会根据学生的英文程度和具体要求设计相关教学内容，比如他自己设计口语对话教材就非常生动，很贴近实际场景应用。Eric在课堂上循序渐进，语法内容解释清晰，口音纯正，互动非常好，让学生没有压力，不知不觉中一步步达到目标。他在课后也会布置相关作业来强化课堂学习效果。尤其值得一提的是他有才华且知识面很广，我很幸运能遇到这样的好老师。我觉得对想来北美尤其是加拿大，或其他英语母语国家留学的同学，他的确非常有帮助。一位好老师，非常值得推荐！感谢Eric！
