I'm Haruka. I was born and raised in Japan. I live in Montreal. I love to travel around the world, listen to pop music in English and Korean, go to concerts, play The Sims 4 and Animal Crossing, and learn languages! I studied English at a university in Japan. I studied abroad in the U.S. for a year and participated in the Disney College Program (in Disney's Animal Kingdom). I learn French, too.

I am a unique tutor. My job is to push you out of your comfort zone so that you can go to the next level. I will correct even small mistakes and explain why it is not the best answer in English or French.
I teach Japanese on several platforms, have various levels of students, and teach them in different ways depending on their needs. I am an adaptable and descriptive teacher. Even if you are a complete beginner, you will talk in Japanese in my lesson! Through my experiences of learning both English and French, I know the points where English speakers and French speakers often make mistakes. Please bring a notebook and pen with you.

Through my experience in learning English, I strongly believe that using and speaking a new language is a very important learning process and the fastest way to learn. I will teach you in English or French if you are a beginner, but I will let you speak in Japanese, even if you are a beginner. No worries! I will teach you frequently asked questions by me and you will need to answer the same question in Japanese to get used to conjugations that get many students. If you are an intermediate and advanced, we can practice how Japanese native speakers talk. I will use a bit of challenging vocabulary depending on your level. Never get bored in my lesson! Une pédagogue hors pair. Haruka est très professionnelle, engagée et travaille très fort pour livrer des leçons de qualité. Depuis mes trentaines de leçons avec elle, je remarque qu'elle se distingue des autres profs, non seulement par sa maîtrise des outils iTalki, mais aussi par ses études de la langue anglaise et française.
Haruka's lessons are always challenging. She is an exceptional Japanese teacher.

Je ne suis pas un étudiant facile à enseignemer, étant donné mon déficit d'attention. C'est un défi pour moi de toujours rester concentrer. Ayant moi-même étudié la pédagogie et l'andragogie, je comprends très bien les défis de l'enseignement. Haruka sait très bien s'adapter à mon style d'apprentissage. Elle rend la leçon toujours très agréable, et j'ai pu m'appercevoir que j'ai beaucoup appris sans vraiment m'en rendre compte. Je vous conseil fortement d'essayer une leçon avec elle.

I love my lessons with Haruka. She has been one of my teachers for awhile now, and I'm so glad I found her! She gives useful and immediate feedback to prevent you from making mistakes into habits. I have worked with other teachers on speaking, and her approach is the best, in my opinion. Back when I was even less confident in my speaking than I am now, she always made me feel comfortable, even when I struggled. She didn't make me feel like she was annoyed or like I was making her life difficult in any way. She is so patient with me, and always has an impressively cheerful attitude. Her name really does suit her.

This was my first lesson with Haruka sensei and I really enjoyed it! The lesson was extremely interactive. Any mistakes I made were corrected and Haruka sensei would encourage me to use the corrected word/sentence which helped in making the word/sentence stick. Haruka sensei also explained grammar in way that was easy to understand. I'm looking forward to my next lesson!
