Hi! I'm Elsa, a native Portuguese speaker from Cape Town, South Africa. I'm a language teacher with 3 years of experience teaching English, and now I’m excited to teach Portuguese as well. Before becoming a teacher, I worked as a translator and child educator, gaining valuable skills in communication and working with learners of all ages.
I have a passion for languages and connecting with people. I’m currently learning Spanish and French, which gives me insight into the challenges my students face when learning a new language. Outside of teaching, I enjoy the gym, watching movies, exploring new hobbies, and listening to music. I love talking about culture, travel, and many topics.عني كمعلّم

I believe learning should be fun and engaging, and I enjoy tailoring my lessons to suit your needs and interests. With 3 years of experience teaching English and Portuguese, and a background in translation and child education, I bring a creative and effective approach to our sessions.

Elsa is an exceptional teacher. She was attentive and genuinely interested in what I was saying, so I felt relaxed during the lesson. She asked thoughtful questions to get me speaking more, so I felt like I got a lot of conversation practice. She gave the perfect amount of feedback, using the text box to show me my corrections. She was patient, and I enjoyed the calm pace of the lesson--she listened closely to me, allowing me to finish my sentences instead of interrupting me with a correction in the middle of a phrase. I will definitely take more lessons with her because I believe my Portuguese will improve quickly with her style of teaching.

Elsa is professional, kind, and a pleasure to work with. In our first lesson we designed a plan of action to help address my weak points in Portuguese. I'm am looking forward to working with her more in the future.

A very pleasant introductory session with Elsa. I found her to be patient, encouraging and generous with her gentle corrections. I look forward to further sessions to learn more about Portuguese speaking Africa, in particular Angóla.
