I have been an italki tutor since 2021 and, during that time, I had the opportunity to help hundreds of people learn and feel at ease with the Portuguese language. I live near Porto and have several decades of experience speaking Portuguese as a native. I am a translator and have translated lots of different books in different genres for the last 20 years. Learning languages is a hobby of mine. Or just reading about languages and understanding the basic concepts of its grammar. As a language learner, it is a true pleasure helping learners of Portuguese, the only language I speak that didn’t take any effort to learn. It will depend on what the student expects. I can explain grammar points in detail, I can sum them up and just give the bare minimum to grasp and apply in everyday usage, I can provide vocabulary (in general or in a specific area) or we can just talk and improve conversation.موادي الخاصة بالتدريس

I used Renato's services about 2 1/2 years ago, having class 5 days/week for 1 year. These lessons were sufficient to prepare me for passing the A1 and A2 course. I am now in the final two months of the B1 level and I needed some private tutoring to help me to understand some of the complex Portuguese verbs and to prepare me to pass the next exam. It was time and money well-spent.
Renato is an excellent tutor who has a iron-fisted grasp on both English and Portuguese. He has the ability to explain the language so the student can comprehend and use it daily. He is flexible, tailoring the teaching to the needs of the student.
I recommend Renato to anyone learning European Portuguese. I live in Portugal and his lessons, past and recent, enable me to make my way through the local Portuguese scene.

I really enjoyed talking with Renato. It was my first lesson with him but he made me feel comfortable and confident to speak (almost) entirely in Portuguese. He spoke clearly and quickly understood my level. I know that my Portuguese will improve quickly during these conversations.

My lesson with Renato was excellent! We quickly reviewed many topics I had questions on and I gained clarity on certain grammatical rules. I feel more confident in my Portuguese now. He gave me some links to study. I was able to understand everything Renato said in Portuguese and I am looking forward to booking another lesson.

Another excellent lesson with Renato. He is very good at adapting his lessons to his student's language ability level. He is always ready to change the original subject of our lesson in order to answer upcoming questions relating to different things. I very much appreciate this flexibility which suits my rather intuitive learning style. In addition, Renato is very patient, motivating and friendly.
