Bonjour,
My name is Nelson, I'm a native French speaker teaching in Italki for 3 years. Originally from France, I chose the island life to live in the Philippines.
I would describe myself as a positive person, easygoing and curious. I love to share my energy with my students. I firmly believe that learning French should be exciting.
I'm an entrepreneur and videographer with a Master's degree in Business. I'm passionate about travel, culture, business, and adventures!
And Politics (of course, I'm French) :D
I help beginners to advanced levels students learn French in a comfortable and positive environment.عني كمعلّم
I am very patient and attentive, and I will do my best to help you reach your goals in learning French.
Every student is different, so my lessons are 100% based on your needs and your goals.
Over the years, I built efficient methods that help you achieve your goal.
Whether you want to speak French for fun, to travel in France, or land your dream Job in a French company, we can make the magic happen.
My experience and achievement as a teacher:
- 3 years of teaching on Italki.
- Top 1% Italki French teacher for the last 2 years.
- Hundreds of happy students.
But my best achievement is the success of my student:
Successful completion of the language test for French citizenship.

I enjoy teaching interactively, with a focus on discussion and interactions.
For beginner and intermediate students, I'm more structured; I like to include a small part of grammar, orthographic, and vocabulary learning. It will help you progress faster.
Based on your preferences, we can also include tools like videos, images, and articles.
For every student, I create a shared document that will be used as a "roadmap" to keep track of the lessons and allow valuable continuity.

This was only my 2nd lesson with Nelson and I already know I made a right choice with doing lessons with him! He was super patient when I struggled and attentive to what I said. He's great with getting the conversation going. I'm someone who prefers to be corrected asap by my tutors, so that I can learn & say the correct phrase right after. I liked how the 2nd half was for me to practice passé composé vs imparfait which I've been struggling with. Merci beaucoup Nelson et Joyeux Noël !

Nelson has been an excellent resource. He is really helping me move my French from written to verbal - while helping me expand my grammar knowledge and sentence structure. He makes me try to work toward the solution without just giving me the answer. I really enjoy my time working with Nelson. HIGHLY recommend!
