My name is James and I live in Toronto, Canada.

I provide lessons that focus on conversation where we practice speaking about different topics that interest you in English and discuss any questions you may have about: grammar, syntax or vocabulary. I can also provide more structured lessons that follow a course book and provide you with more specific exercises to improve your English ability. I also offer English lessons for young learners. I use many different materials in my lessons such as: articles, videos and games! Children's Mental Health Certificate - Humber College - 2024To receive this certificate I had to complete 5 university courses, equivalent to one full semester of study. The course covered the theory and best practices of how to identify, manage, and treat mental health problems in children and young adults.
In my classes, this certificate will allow me to notice and remove sources of stress and other barriers to learning for my young students. Ensuring a more comfortable, engaging, and fun classroom environment!

Piano InstructorI taught piano to beginner learners for three years. In doing so I employed a mixed curriculum using both coursebooks but also resources I created myself to improve the learners experience, I also encouraged regular practice while also providing regular feedback on how to fix mistakes and improve. All of these skills will be helpful in language instruction as well.

Volunteer Event HostThis is a volunteer position where I host events -online discussions via Zoom- on the language learning platform Duolingo. My responsibilities are to facilitate discussions among EFL learners by; asking questions, coming up with prompts and creating interesting activities to encourage languages learners to get outside their comfort zone.

James has been my son's English teacher for several months now. We are delighted with his professionalism. He is always attentive and concerned about ensuring that my son acquires all the knowledge in an enjoyable and didactic manner. He prepares the classes exceptionally, providing follow-up both within the class and with all the materials and recommendations he sends us separately. James is the teacher of my 11 years daughter and 7 years son. They have been studying with James for some time. He is a very patient kindly and professional teacher. It is happy for me to see my two kids improve a lot with his teaching. Highly recommend to anyone who wants to learn English with him. No matter With kids or without kids.

Our 12 years old daughter loves her lessons with James. Avital takes lessons twice a week. We have seen an improvement in her English language skills since she started working with James, and we are so grateful for the positive impact that he has had on her learning.
James is very skilled at tailoring his teaching style to suit child’s interests and strengths. When we asked him for more conversational practice for our daughter James found an individual way to engage her in conversation by speaking about topics that she loves, like books, movies, and more. This approach helps her to improve her conversational skills and also makes the lessons more enjoyable.
We highly recommend James as an English teacher for teens. His individualized approach, flexibility, and ability to engage students in conversation make him an excellent choice for anyone looking to improve their child's English language skills.

My daughter takes classes with James for a bit less than 2 years. James keeps fun and easy atmosphere during the class as if it's not a learning process, but just a meeting of two friends. The more surprising is the progress that my daughter has made in reading (she didn't read at all when they started). She brought a book recently and started reading fluently. It was amazing! Thank you James. You did a great job! I wish you have more happy little students!
