Michelle / Misako

Through my first 5 lessons, and the trial lesson, Misako sensei has been a wonderful teacher. She has been patient as I mentally work through the sentences, both interpreting the questions being asked and speaking the answers. She gives some cultural notes on how some things are in Japan. When I bring up alternatives that I've heard used for what we are going over, she has been explaining some of the differences between the options. I can hear the joy in her voice when I come up with an explanation on my own or self-correct when I catch my own error. Misako sensei has been very helpful so far in connecting the fragments of knowledge I have from my intermittent self study prior. I am looking forward to continuing my studies.

I've been working with Michelle for just over a year now and I enjoy our lessons. She is personable and provides good interaction and information about outside resources that can aid in learning.

Misako-sensei is a wonderful teacher! She is kind, patient and very encouraging. She is so supportive and she makes me look forward to learning. (Which if you asked any of my teachers from school, they would tell you that is quite the accomplishment.) I am a beginner so it was important to find a teacher I am comfortable learning from. Someone that makes learning fun but also holds me accountable for my studies and keeps me on track toward my goals. And I have now found that teacher. I cannot recommend Misako enough!
