My name is Natalia, I am 40 years old, bilingual Italian / Brazilian Portuguese and CILS examiner. I have two Bachelor's degrees (in Journalism and in Philosophy), a postgraduate degree in History, Society and Culture; and a Master Degree in Italian Literature & Language. I worked for almost 20 years in the cultural and editorial area, and since 2020 I teach Italian and Brazilian Portuguese to foreigners and do translations.عني كمعلّم

Learning a language does not have to be martyrdom. It is, instead, a way to increase one's cultural baggage on the world. My teaching method combines the passion for the culture and the stories of these people with the regular teaching of the language. The aim is to provide adequate oral and written expression in the language and to provide cultural knowledge about Italy and Brazil. Classes are online, via Zoom.موادي الخاصة بالتدريس

Natalia is an excellent teacher. I don't have any specific plan and I've only acquainted myself with Italian through a 10-minute exercise a day app, so my skills are very basic. I can barely make a sentence I intend, despite having some beginner vocabulary. Natalia has a wonderful and warm personality: with patience and curiosity she allows for my growing pains to be less prevalent. The learning process becomes fun, challenging but interesting. And I always learn something besides Italian language: we have bought up topics of gender equality in a language formation, job interest among youth, origins of different kinds of pasta, etc. All of this with my very modest skills. I'm very excited I get to spend time with such and excellent teacher and human!

Natalia and I had a great conversation about the short stories we've been reading. I love the author and my sessions with Natalia. I have the opportunity to express my opinions and therefore use (or try to use) new vocabulary and more advanced grammar.

Today, Natalia enhanced our discussion of a short story by introducing related materials. The story was about Rome in the 1950's. The narrator was a "controfigura", a stunt-man for an Italian film. Natalia was prepared with online pictures of the Cinecitta - the Roman film studio where many films were and still are filmed. Who knew that Ben Hur was filmed in the Cinecitta! Thank you, Natalia for an eye-opening lesson.
