My name is Carina and I am from Chicago. I am also Puerto Rican. I speak 4 languages and live on the tropical island of Puerto Rico. I speak Spanish and French and I am currently learning Brazilian Portuguese and Japanese.
I specialize in linguistics, phonetics, pronunciation, conversation, vocabulary and corrections!
My interests: running, travel, working out, languages, yoga, boxing, food, baking, riding horses and knitting.
Traveling is my passion! I have traveled to Iceland, Malta, France, Japan, Spain, Italy, The Vatican, Cuba, Puerto Rico, Mexico, Morocco, the UK, Portugal, Monaco, Andorra, Denmark, Sweden, Ireland, Switzerland, Austria, Hungary, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Greece.عني كمعلّم
As a Linguist, I specialize in conversation, pronunciation, vocabulary and corrections throughout my lessons. I use current events and sociocultural topics throughout my custom curated lessons to push conversations forward. This allows you to think on your feet and for me to help guide you into new vocabulary and more elaborate, critical thinking. I also give precise corrections throughout the lesson that will help refine your pronunciation and your conversation flow.
My strategy aids in enhancing your speaking abilities in different situations, debates and scenarios.

I focus on conversation, pronunciation, comprehension and vocabulary while using modern and interactive materials and resources to fit your language goals.
We will talk about real world issues, current events and everyday life, debate about social issues, discuss cultural differences etc.

Carina is the best teacher I've ever had. She's incredibly energetic, patient, and cheerful, making every class dynamic and enjoyable. Time flies when you're in her class—you hardly notice when it's over! I highly recommend her to anyone looking to improve their English.
Her pronunciation classes have been especially helpful for me. Carina as an english and spanish speaker, understands the common mistakes that spanish speakers make, and she uses that knowledge to help you improve your pronunciation effectively.
In her classes, I also learn new vocabulary and concepts. She takes the time to explain any words or ideas you’re unfamiliar with, ensuring that you fully understand and can apply them.

Carina is a great teacher. She is always so energetic and prepares great materials for the lesson, such as videos, and then we discuss the topic. She also helps me to correct my pronunciation.
