I love teaching people from different countries and backgrounds and helping you improve your communication with friends, extended family, colleagues and business partners. I have an MA degree in Applied linguistics - English and Japanese and I have been a teacher for more than 19 years teaching English, Japanese and my native languages - Bulgarian and Russian. I have also specialised in the Tokyo University of Foreign Studies.

PhD in Applied Linguistics; +15 years of language teaching experience at university level I have been teaching German and Italian for over 15 years at a prestigious Canadian University as well as at a local language school. I have experience teaching all levels and age groups, both in-person and online.

My friends' parents would have their kids practice English with me and once I went to university, I started teaching Italian and Bulgarian privately. Growing up I always had to translate a lot because I spoke 3 languages. I also have been teaching some of the languages to friends, and took foreign language classes as well in order to learn how to teach. Also being part of a french-japanese association, I met a lot of language learners, and being born trilingual I can see notice some things that monolingual natives may not notice. I am now a student in a language university in Japan and also studied one year in a French university in order to learn more about languages.

At some point, I realised that teaching had become a passion. My professional experience before italki was focused mainly on exam preparation both in English (e.g. Cambridge, Trinity) and German (Goethe Institut, telc) and included - apart from the usual group and individual, intensive and regular courses - level-testing and organising mock exams. For several years, I also worked as an English examiner and corrector at one of the universities in Spain. I hold a C2 Certificate in Spanish (DELE).
