It's chilly and rainy today. I think I've caught a cold. Ironically, I just learned about the influenza virus in science class. I started feeling feverish and shivery, even with my wool cape on. Dad confirmed my fever with a hand on my forehead. I think I'll take a day or two off. Mom's still at the funeral, so it's a bit of a downer. I have a strange feeling about this day, like it's a bad omen.
