Folktale Fridays will be an exploration of folktales. Aimed at students of all levels to follow along as I read, transporting us to distant lands, learning English vocabulary along the way.

Человека, который поздно ложиться спать, называют совой, потому что сова - это ночная птица, то есть она не спит ночью. Её дом - лес. У неё круглая голова и большие глаза. 
Человека, который не любит вставать поздно, называют жаворонком. Жаворонок - это маленькая птичка, громкое и мелодичное пение которой можно услышать  рано утром. 
К какому типу людей относитесь вы? Любите просыпаться ближе к середине дня или предпочитаете ранние подъёмы?

Emma Lapin sourit gentiment; elle sait que Pierre est un écureuil distrait qui oublie toujours où il a dissimulé ses provisions pour l'hiver.
La petite boutique d’Emma Lapin ne désemplit jamais; les animaux de Vertecampagne et de Petitbois s'y pressent du matin jusqu'au soir.

Le secret de la réussite d’Emma est qu’il n’est jamais question d’argent entre ses clients et elle. Tout se paie avec des sourires, des bisous, des plaisanteries ou des compliments. Rien d'étonnant que son commerce soit si florissant...

Instead of skipping your study session, try to do something manageable, even if it’s just for 5 or 10 minutes. This small effort prevents the disruption of your learning habit and keeps you from falling into the “rest zone” for too long. Remember, a little bit of progress each day compounds over time, and that’s how big results are achieved.

Once you take a break from studying for too long, it becomes increasingly tempting to stay in that “rest mode.” We’ve all experienced this—one day off turns into two, and suddenly a week has gone by. The longer you rest, the harder it becomes to start again. This is not just a language learning issue; it’s a cognitive phenomenon called the inertia effect, where the longer we avoid an activity, the more mental resistance we build up toward starting it again.
