What type of verb IS "felt" (past tense)
A - It is a normal verb. The subject is "fabric". It is the fabric that feels. Normally, it would be a person who feels the fabric. It wouldn't be the fabric that feels. However, one of the meanings of the verb "to feel" is "to give a sensation when touched". So if the fabric gives a feeling of softness, it is correct to say "the fabric feels soft".
