Hey, guys! Has anyone watched the show Ted Lasso? 😎There're two lines in S01E01 that I don't understand, maybe someone here may help me figure them out :) The first one is the coach Lasso introducted himself to his new female boss Rebecca Welton: -Hey, how y'all doing? I'm Ted Lasso, your new coach. You must be Ms. Welton. -Please, call me Rebecca. Ms. Welton's my father. -If that's a joke, I love it. If not, I cannot wait to unpack that with you. So what's the exact meaning of the last sentence here? Does that mean if Rebecca's father "turned" to a Ms. and she might get a child trauma because of that, so Ted ist like to talk about that with her and relief her If she wants to? (btw the chineses translation from apple TV + is: If not, I would like to make that be a joke with u together...I don't think it sounds right...or polite...) The second one is about a metaphor to describe a old man's balls for Liam and Noel 😂 The conversation is between the old coach and Rebecca. -You're fired. -Fired? What the fxxk for? -I suppose I could go for any number of reasons, really... ...Or maybe it's because you insist on wearing those tiny shorts that force me to see one of your txxticles (The old coach adjust his pose) ...And there's the other one. Liam and Noel. Though, perhaps not an oasis. My question here is also about the last sentence, I know Liam and Noel brothers were in the Oasis, and the Chinese traslation here is:"(they are) not in the same league as the Oasis though", But I don't think it's correct because the "o" from "oasis" here is a small one, then maybe besides the band name the "oasis" here also has its original meaning? because the man's there seems to be very... dry??? I'm sorry for my indirect language😂 but I really want to know. Thank u in advance!!! PS: The show is warmhearted, really worthy to watch 💞 Mo

Yes. Oasis is the band. She’s basically saying his balls are gross. Not an oasis which is a nice place.

“Unpack that with you” simply means to talk with you about the details of the story and *perhaps* talk about its meaning. “To unpack” a sentence or story or anecdote doesn’t imply anything more than that. Bear in mind that in English, especially American and Australian English, we say things in a straightforward way. In conversation, we generally don’t imply more than is being said.
