"Perception" and "perspective" are closely related concepts but have distinct meanings and uses. Here's a breakdown of the differences: 1. Perception Definition: The way you interpret or understand something based on your senses, experiences, or mental processes. Focus: It's about how you sense or recognize reality. Context: Often used to describe how individuals or groups interpret things differently. Example: "Her perception of the painting was that it represented hope." "There’s a perception that the company cares more about profits than people." Key Point: Perception is subjective and depends on external input (senses or information) and internal interpretation. 2. Perspective Definition: A particular attitude or point of view toward something, shaped by your personal experiences, beliefs, and values. Focus: It’s about the mental or emotional position from which you view something. Context: Often refers to how someone chooses to see or frame a situation. Example: "From her perspective, the situation seemed unfair." "Traveling helps broaden your perspective on life." Key Point: Perspective is a point of view and is influenced by your personal stance or outlook.

‘Perception’ deals with senses. ‘Perspective’ involves thoughts and judgments. For example: My perception of you (what I’ve seen, heard etc) My perspective on your situation (what I think about it, which may depend a lot on MY values, wisdom, biases etc.)

It is the same as the difference between "view" and "point of view", or the difference between "knowing" and "interpreting". It is the difference between what you see and how you see it.

Perception is the behaviour of seeing. (not only with eyes, but with any of our senses, including the mind's eye). EG: My perception is strong = My perceptive ability or behaviour is strong = I have great vision (not only with eyes). Perspective is the angle or place of origin from which we see things (again, not only with eyes, but with any of our senses, including the mind's eye). EG: This is a useful perspective for me = I find it useful how I can see things from here.

Perspective is similar to "point of view". For example, "it's important to listen to people who have different perspectives, so that you have balanced opinions". The dictionary definition of "perception" is "an idea, a belief or an image you have as a result of how you see or understand something". For example, "After the actor donated a lot of money to charity, the public's perception of him changed". If you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to ask :)
